L'objectif global de ce réseau est de maintenir la biodiversité des milieux en définissant un cadre commun pour la conservation des habitats naturels ainsi que de la faune et de la flore sauvages sur le territoire des États membres. Natura 2000 est un réseau écologique européen de zones protégées naturelles (tourbières, forêts, rivières, rochers, grottes), semi-naturelles (prairies fleuries, pelouses sèches, landes, etc.) ou servant d'habitat propre à certaines espèces animales ou végétales. Les sites \"Natura 2000\" sont proposés par les États membres, en application des directives européennes \"Oiseaux\" (2009) et \"Habitats\" (1992) qui constituent la base légale du projet. De 2002 à 2005, Le Gouvernement wallon a ainsi défini 240 sites Natura 2000 (Décision du GW - 24 mars 2005), ce qui représente quelques 221.000 ha, soit 13% du territoire wallon. Ces sites sont composés de forêts (feuillus, résineux, mixtes), terres agricoles, zones humides et cours d\u2019eau. Les sites Natura 2000 sont soumis à des obligations légales communes visant à en assurer la protection et la gestion. Lorsqu\u2019un site est inventorié et cartographié, il fait l\u2019objet d\u2019un Arrêté de Désignation (AD) qui y fixe des mesures et des moyens particuliers de conservation. Ces AD envisagent le site Natura 2000 suivant un découpage en Unités de Gestion (UG). Une UG est donc une portion de site Natura 2000 (d\u2019un seul tenant ou non) où les règles de gestion à appliquer sont homogènes (bien que les objectifs biologiques puissent être différents). En 2011, la Wallonie à revu les mesures générales de protection devant être respectées sur tous les sites Natura 2000 (désignés ou non) et de nouveaux textes ont été adoptés (AGW - 24 mars 2011). Depuis 2014, les sites Natura 2000 ont été progressivement désignés suivant ces nouveaux textes. Les \"anciens\" arrêtés de 2009 ont été progressivement remplacés par de nouveaux arrêtés de désignation. délimitation géographique des bassins versants hydrographiques des masses d'eau de surface considérées par la Directive-Cadre Eau et son application en Wallonie.La masse d'eau au sens large est un concept introduit par la Directive-cadre européenne sur l'Eau (DCE - Directive 2000/60/CE). Il s'agit de l'unité élémentaire pour caractériser le milieu aquatique. Cette notion est mieux adaptée à la gestion des ressources en eau à l'intérieur des bassins hydrographiques à large échelle (Districts hydrographiques internationaux). Chaque District possède un Plan de Gestion de District Hydrographique (PGDH).La masse d'eau de surface est définie par la DCE comme \"une partie distincte et significative des eaux de surface telles un lac, un réservoir, une rivière, un fleuve ou un canal, une partie de rivière, de fleuve ou de canal, une eau de transition ou une portion d'eaux côtières\". De ce fait, la masse d'eau de surface correspond à une unité de gestion des ressources en eau.Ces masses d'eau appartiennent à des bassins versants aux caractéristiques uniformes qui constituent l'unité territoriale de suivi des objectifs et de rapportage au niveau wallon et européen. Chaque bassin versant des MESU est donc affecté par les objectifs d'atteinte d'un bon état environnemental défini par la DCE.La présente couche de données correspond à la délimitation de ces bassins versants. L'ensemble de la Wallonie est couverte par 390 bassins versants :- 352 bassins versants correspondent aux masses d'eau de surface définies en Wallonie. Ils sont totalement inclus dans le territoire wallon ou se situent à cheval sur une frontière. Ils disposent d'un identifiant reprenant le bassin hydrographique du plan de gestion ( 2 premières lettres*) + un numéro d'ordre (2 chiffres) + le type de BV MESU (R = Rivière, C = Canal, L = Réservoir.). Ces bassins versants font l'objet de fiche caractéristique individuelle;- 38 bassins versants hydrographiques correspondent aux parties de territoire wallon qui n\u2019ont pas été identifiées comme masse d\u2019eau (soit qu'il n'y a pas de cours d\u2019eau, soit ce cours d\u2019eau est inférieur à 10 km²) Ils sont cartographiés dans la couche de données mais ne disposent pas des attributs
